What a fantastic start to the second half of the Summer Term!

Meadows have returned to Nursery super happy and full of energy, they have had a wonderful time sharing the Traditional Tale of Jack and the Beanstalk!

This classic story has helped us to think and reflect about the value of trust, who we should trust, and why. Is the giant a bad person? Was it all right for the Giant to be angry and chase Jack? …….

We have planted our own ‘magic beans’ in the hope that they will grow into huge beanstalks, just like Jack’s! We are excited to observe each stage of the growing process.

Next Week:

Our new summer Term Topic will be ‘Traditional Tales’.

We will continue with the story of Jack and the Beanstalk by Nick Sharratt and Stephen Tucker.

Group time: Planting individual beans. Discussing the life cycle of a bean. Looking at different types of beans , their shapes, colours and sizes. Being able to name them (broad beans, haricot beans, kidney beans etc.)

What dishes can we make with beans? What are your favorite beans? (baked beans, kidney beans, cannellini beans, peas, chickpeas, lentils). Can you share your special beans dish recipe?

PSED: Understanding how to make right choices: “I can…” Talk about and explain my choices. Discuss Jack and his choices. Should Jack have taken the Beans? Should Jack have gone up the Beanstalk? Should Jack have stolen the Giant’s things?

Have a restful and wonderful weekend!
