This week, Meadows have been exploring the calm seas and storm waves around the world. We continued to be on the move and this week has been all about boats.
We enjoyed Mr. Gumpy’s outing story, we have thought and shared our ideas about the forces that are taking place when Mr. Gumpy is using his boat. Why do boats float? Children were super excited to experiment with different kind of boats and estimating how much weight they can carry; Meadows made the super ice boats, Will they melt? How long will it take? We enjoyed listening to the most amazing and interesting  answers.

 Next week
Focus book: “Mrs. Armitage on wheels” by Quentin Blake
Group time: Can you recall when you all went out cycling together ? It might have been to the park, to school or to a friend’s house. Did you wear anything special to protect your head?  If it gets dark, what do we need to wear for other people/drivers to see us?
How many bikes can you spot ion your way to school?
Are they all the same?
We will continue exploring more about boats and discuss how they are different/similar, and which countries they come from.
Polite reminder
End of Day Collection: The gate is open at 3:10pm for prompt collection please, this allows teachers to continue their working day by attending meetings and other professional development. We do not give daily individual feedback, however if a meeting is required, please ask for the appropriate form at the door. We want to keep our communication open, and this will help with timekeeping. This includes pick up time at 11:30am.
We have welcomed the sunshine this summer term, please bring in a sun hat and protective sun cream that are clearly labelled and will remain at nursery. As the weather continue to improve, please apply sun cream before school starts. The cream is not to be left in your children’s bag but handed to member of staff. If possible, we found that the roll-on bottles are the most efficient and can be applied with ease.
We wish you all  a lovely and restful weekend!
Nursery team.
