This has been a week of discovery for Meadows, from flying airplanes to decorating our fabulous Christmas trees.

Children have been superstars learning Christmas songs for our little musical show. We have been wrapping gifts and helping in Santa’s workshop creating the most amazing cards and decorations.

Our airport is busy, with planes flying all over the world. We have been looking at the differences between landlocked and coastline countries. We have had some interesting sustained shared thinking about the meaning of ’landlocked’ and why some countries are surrounded by beautiful coastlines.

We continue to practice numbers 1-5, exploring patterns within numbers and understanding number symbols.

Children are exploring their writing skills and they have been amazing; showing great fine motor control skills.

We are super proud to see our children developing their social skills further. They show empathy towards their friends, helping each other, playing in small and bigger groups, and sharing the values of our school.

Next week

Focus book: The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher

Math: Exploring patterns within numbers.

Literacy: Exploring the idea of tracing/writing our names.

Notices.

We would like to thank our Meadows families for attending the online Learning Conversation and Family Friday. It was a great opportunity to talk about all the wonderful things your children are doing.

Donations

We are incredibly grateful for the donations of Christmas decorations that we have received from some of the families. You are still on time to donate those Christmassy items that you will not be using any more like tinsel, baubles, and old Christmas cards etc.

Wishing you all a restful weekend!
