What a wonderful busy week it has been for Meadows! We enjoyed amazing stories about hair love and children learned through them about the importance of loving our hair and ourselves. It has been a wonderful topic to chat about and has helped to develop children’s imagination and curiosity about the subject.

We have introduced a wider range of vocabulary such as wavy, straight, curly, long, short, braid, ponytail, and many more. We practiced fine motor skills weaving wool to make hair and arranging different spaghetti hairstyles.

We have also seen the joy of children exploring both indoor and outdoor areas and having fun in our amazing spaces like the Vet corner where we treated animals/pets from around the world.

Children have shown interest and curiosity about life in the desert display. We have encouraged children’s creative thinking by providing this kind of experience where they can share their ideas in small/ larger groups.

Child 1: “Look! We can make a road for the camel!” Child 2: “Why is the house like that?“ (referring to the hut). Meadows wanted to know all about people living in different parts of the world and how many of our own extended families live in places like this one.

Help your child at home

This week, it has been wonderful to see so many children really trying to use their cutlery independently at lunchtime. Please continue to encourage this at home.
Grown-ups! Are you up for a challenge? If so, another self-help skill to practice with your child is getting their coats on and off independently. Buttons and zips can be a little tricky, however, please teach your child how to grasp and pull-out sleeves that are inside out. Tip: Get the hood on first or lay the coat on the floor and slide your arms through and over.

Other information / Donations

We kindly ask our families for donations; we need spare socks, if you happen to have more than enough, and if you are happy to share, we will be incredibly grateful.

We are also trying to give our children real life experiences through their playful learning and for that we are looking for unused/broken appliances like laptops (no cables), microwave, kettle, etc.

A big thanks to all our family for your support and understanding.

Have a wonderful and restful weekend and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Tuesday, 4 October!
