Amazing Meadows! We continue to be so proud of you all. Meadows have been sharing lovely stories about their families. They have been super excited about our Scratchable World Map. We have scratched off the countries where our parents were born and we have travelled to places like France, Spain, Poland, India, China, Ecuador and many more.

Meadows have been developing their fine motor skills by modelling fragrant play dough. We have used spices and herbs from around the world like cinnamon, lavender, mint, cloves among others and learnt to mix them by using our senses of smell and taste.

We have tried 6 different types of delicious olives from Turkey and children were so courageous by trying them and sharing their thoughts.

We are extending our learning by creating opportunities where children learn new vocabulary such as directional language (straight, zigzag, around; parts of the body (hand, wrist, elbow, feet/foot.). Children have used story dice and their imagination didn’t have limits telling incredible and fun stories.

Next week:

Focus book : Let’s celebrate, Special Days around the world

Notices

Next week, we will be dancing to the rhythm of the music around the globe, please practice some of your fabulous moves and traditional dances with your children.

A huge thanks to you all for the latest donations, our mud kitchen looks amazing with the new appliances.

Meadows snack time

We have kindly asked for fruit donation for our snack time. Food diversity plays a major role in proper nutrition and development, as well as helping our children to understand more about our diverse community. Children are naturally curious so let us open the door to the amazing colours of fruit and vegetables. If you would like to donate fruit or vegetables, please send it with your child to school on Mondays. I will be bringing a custard apple next week which is a common fruit in Cuba and warmer climate countries.

Family Friday and Family Festival

Please join us for Family Friday on Friday, 21 October. Please refer to last week’s blog for more information.

Have a lovely weekend
