This week the children have been busy building. Our story of the week was about building a house, so we discussed building houses out of logs, stone and bricks too. We imagined what it would be like going camping, setting up a tent, rolling out our sleeping bag and going to sleep under the stars.

Children have also made lovely creations out of cardboard boxes. Some were big, some were small, they used their imagination to stick and cut, attach buttons and wires to make robots, attach feathers and pompoms to make a variety of creatures! If your child is busy at home making, please send us a picture on Tapestry, we would love to see them.

We have started our outdoor learning in small groups, please make sure your child has wellie boots and waterproof trousers and coats in nursery. We encourage children to get ready independently for the outdoors. You can practice at home too, letting them get dressed by themselves, putting their socks and shoes on, pulling their trousers up, putting their coats on.

This week we have been dancing with scarves, making patterns with gems and bracelets and playing with fine sand. We have also watched a short film about hoe children celebrate Diwali at home.

Wishing all families who celebrate a Happy Diwali!
