Another delightful week filled with joy and wonder! Meadows have been super excited learning about the effect of stormy weather and have specially enjoyed discovering all things “spirals.” As there is so much more to discover, we have decided to continue with our research next week too!
We have been super busy counting how many sounds have our names and some of the children were interested in writing their names on their very own rainy cloud.
We had so much fun flying our own kites, created with different materials and exploring ideas on how to make unconventional kite designs; can we make square kite or a circle one? We have compared which kite flies better and why?
Children have been learning about storms, hurricanes, tornados, and rain. They have shared amazing and interesting ideas with all their friends and teachers about how we stay safe during hurricane season such as “using camping tents, asking parents for help, building strong houses, closing windows very quickly😊”
Next week Focus
We will continue our journey exploring more in depth about wild weather around the world and how different it can be from one continent to another. We will continue our learning through light and colour exploration introducing rainbows and colour mixing.

Talk about which materials are waterproof? How could you find out?
Draw a rainy picture and add words to describe it and bring it to nursery on Monday to celebrate together.
Ask a grown up to fill up your sink with water and watch the spiral form as the water gurgles down the drain! (Remember not to waste too much water) You could take a photo or draw your spiral.
