This week we have been celebrating Lunar New Year and Shakespeare Week in school! We have loved learning about how people are welcoming in the year of the dragon with traditional food, clothes and dancing. Please see some wonderful photos on Tapestry.

As part of Shakespeare week, we have made some nature-inspired head-dresses and danced along to Midsummer Night’s Dream, taking inspiration from the graceful ballet dancers. We have also moved gracefully like fairies, swirling and twirling with ribbons and scarves.

Our story of the week was The Great Race, where 13 animals race across the river so the new year will be named after them. Can your children remember in what order the animals arrived? You can swatch the story here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001sz70/musical-storyland-series-1-4-the-great-race

In our final week of our project on Weather, we have been focusing on the sun, moon and stars. Meadows have enjoyed making prints with stamps and paints on large pieces of paper. We have explored light and dark across the classroom, including in our science area with torches in our dark, sensory tent.

Well done Meadows for a wonderful first term of the year!

Have a lovely, restful break.
