The theory of evolution through natural selection changed the face of scientific thought in unimaginable ways. But did you know that the theory, often attributed to Charles Darwin alone, had a co-creator? Alfred Russel Wallace has been overshadowed by his contemporary and, over time, people have forgotten his contributions. In Year 6, we have been remembering many of the wonderful things Wallace did and will be writing biographies of the forgotten man of evolution next week – check back for some published pieces then.

We have also consolidated our knowledge of long division (and what to do with the remainders. Alongside this, we have been considering how genes are passed down through inheritance – and how this can help when selectively breeding dogs..!
