Our thoughts and ideas are beginning to come together in English and our narrative poems are taking shape. These poems are based on the setting, characters and events of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

We have continued to learn about equivalent fractions and how to simplify them in maths. Our worksheets are here:

Our coding skills are coming along nicely in Computing. We’ve been using the programme Turtle Graphics, developed at the University of Worcester, to learn how to code through instruction and experimentation.

Next week:

Friday 27th May 2022 is the last day of this half term. Pickup is at normal time. We will also be holding a jubilee celebration in school for the children on this day – more information to follow through ParentMail.

Prefect Positions

We are excited to be introducing a prefect system at UCPS. All Year 5 children are eligible to apply and further details will be shared next week.

Prefects will support the smooth operation of our busy school and must embody our school values.

These are some of the qualities we are looking for:

Year 6 readiness: Please refer to the attached document to support your child in their learning and make sure they are fully prepared for year 6 in September. This includes regular use of TTR and ensuring confidence with the year 3-4 and year 5-6 spellings.
