One Monday morning, the children were getting ready for an exciting beginning to their ‘Once Upon a Time’ topic. They are ready to go and excited to learn what the focus book is for this week. They have discussed over the weekend different fairy tales and are eager to learn about our first fairy tale story that contains pigs, houses and the wolf. Focus story: The Three Little Pigs.

Group Learning: Today’s learning activity is to listen to Ms W read a version of ‘The Three Little Pigs’, please make sure you are listening carefully to the story as there are some comprehension questions for you to answer.

Task 1: To log into Get Epic (https://www.getepic.com) and read a different version of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and complete the quiz at the end of the story. If you are unable to access this website please let your class teacher know by emailing enquiries. In the mean time, you can share the story at home or view a version online.
Phonics: For the warm up, we will playing ‘splat the tricky troll word’ Ms B will point to a tricky troll word and you need to say that word. We will then be learning the trigraph ‘air’; for example, hair and chair. We shall be practising to write words containing this new sound as well as challenging ourselves to write three sentences.
Resources needed: your sound mat, a pencil and your red book
Maths: Today the children will be learning to identify 3D shapes: cube, cuboid, cone, pyramid, cylinder and sphere.
